Hey! What’s all this fuss about Complementary and
Alternative medicine?
I don’t know about you, but every time I need to visit a
doctor for something that ails me, I wish I didn’t have to. It’s a nerve
wrecking experience to go to the man (or woman) in the white coat and get
diagnosed. But I’ve found a white coat experience that isn’t worrying at all! In
fact, it’s a refreshing change! They call themselves the CAM doctors or Complementary
Alternative Medicine Doctors.
What’s that?? Complementary and Alternative Medicine has
never been more popular. It’s been around for centuries, treating people with a
variety of problems. An age old practice which has been gaining popularity in
the recent past. Today a lot of lay people like you and me prefer to get
treated in totality – body, mind and soul. CAM is tailor made to treat each
patient in his or her own unique way, rather than a standard OTC pill or
procedure.
Now this is not a “for or against” write up. It’s just a way
to show that there exists more than one way of getting yourself treated and you
may choose whichever may be more suitable to you. CAM can be used stand-alone
or can aid your existing treatment plan if acceptable to all three parties viz.
yourself, your current doctor and your CAM doctor.
